Dr. Loosen 2010 Uerziger Wuerzgarten Spaetlese Riesling at the WineEmporium

If you are in Sebastopol and have some extra time come visit Micaela at the super fun Wine Emporium. Among the things she was pouring today are the Chappellet Mountain Cuvée, a nice Arneis and BrixChick Michele's and my favorite, the Dr. Loosen Reisling. Hailing from the Mosel region in Germany this smooth slightly sweet wine had aromas of white flowers and lychee. Flavors of citrus and lychee elderflower with white peach on the finish. Delish! We were dreaming of spicy asian food and postulating the many snacks this would pair well with when we realized we were late for our "Golden Girl" linner!

Raymond Napa Valley Reserve 2011 Sauvignon Blanc Review

Janesta says, "just right" and I agree. Rain or shine we were celebrating with Shrimp Ceviche but what wine? Luckily I had cooling in the fridge a lovely 2011Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc from Raymond. Clear and pale with a slight greenish cast then aromas of fresh mineralaity, hints of the tropics with a soupçon of citrus. Add to that a snappy acidity and we had the perfect pair with our ceviche. The mouthfeel was smooth and went so well with the secret-sauced-up-lime juice.  I received this as
sample but I will be looking for it everywhere.  Meanwhile, you can get it online from The Wine King (thanks, Vinquire!)
